Hi. Thanks for stopping by. Really.
The BusinessCasualBlog (BcB) is just one cog in a community of interest around the business of learning and social media.
What BcB isn't: This isn't really a site with heavy corporate-speak.
What BcB is: Mostly commentaries, observations, discussions about where social media works in daily business and learning programs.
You'll also find the occasional post on off-topic interests including: running, outdoor activities, current events, the occasional stupid dog tricks video from YouTube, and the like. Yes, I'll occasionally rant. I hope you won't hold it against me. But, always, I promise to be respectful.
About Mel
I'm an author, trainer and creator of online social learning communities. At the moment I'm knee-deep with two ventures: MindBridj and JaraUniversity.
Through MindBridj, I'm available to help your organization develop social learning communities and online training solutions. I'm adept in the use of video, Articulate's Studio Suite, Captivate and audio voiceovers to transform your current classroom-based training for the web.
Through JaraUniversity, I help small business professionals and non-profits learn to monetize social media by learning to create content-based marketing funnels.
More About My Work At MindBridj
MindBridj,LLC. I'm the founder of MindBridj, LLC. My work there helps organizations (yours?) transform live/classroom training for delivery online. Usually, this means web video. But, it can also be through rapid eLearning development tools like Articulate, Captivate and Camtasia.
As for live training, yes I do that, too. I've been known to drop in to conduct the occasional social media workshop. Here's a sample outline for my 4-hour program on Hubs and Spokes: Applications of Social Media In Brand Reputation and Awareness.
More About My Work At JaraUniversity
Jara University. This is a partnership venture to develop an online subscription-based coaching site to help small businesses learn to monetize social media. Here's a short informational video.
Did I Mention I'm Also Involved With Non-profits?
Non-profit work. Oh yeah. I also do some work for a local non-profit / professional association. I'm the VP of Communications for the Orange County Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD-OC). I spearheaded the development of their new web site: astdoc.org and moderate many of their online social networking communities.
An Offer To "Stalkers" ;)
