Using Twitscoop, I captured the last 10 minutes (Pacific time zone) of trending tweets on Twitter. This is a 3x speed visualization.
The release of Camp Rock 2 seemed to be buzzing, as was a disappointing retweet about tweeps reposting an original post "...If u drunk & u know it & u really wanna show it, retweet this!!!" Perhaps not surprisingly, the word "drunk" made a trending appearance, as did new vows to "exercise" more. Adam Lambert's new year's performance made a trend as well.
Out of all this, it was at least refreshing to see the new year start with a trending word about folks looking forward to starting fresh with a new "chapter" in their lives for 2010. That, at least, was an encouraging prospect for the new year. But, and at the risk of ending this post on an ironic note--that optimism seemed to be tempered a bit with the trending topics just 2 hours later as the world seemed to begin regressing to familiar topics. (What's up with Iraq and Blackwater?)
Anyway, as you begin a new chapter this year, I wish you--indeed, I wish us all--to have many wonderful new opportunities in 2010.
Happy new year!
