If you're a blogger yourself, then you'd likely agree that It's a good idea to go through your blog's stats every now and then to see what your visitors are reading most, which keywords they use to find your site through search engines, which sites they come from, and so on.
More than simply checking page views, visitor counts and other "eyeball metrics," I like checking what you and our other friends here read most. I do that so I can make sure that what this site's about (business x learning x social media) is still aligned with the topics I predominantly publish, and the reason for your gracious subscription.
And, while I'm on that point, let me again say thank you for subscribing.
So it was that I took a gander at the stats and scanned the content that receive the most visits in the past 30 days; it was interesting to see Google Wave make a resurgence, and from keyword trends, it seems networking activities are a big deal. (Though I can't say that those are necessarily the terms I was trying to rank on. But, maybe I change that moving forward since I've obviously built some momentum with it.)
Here are the Top 10 titles, in order of popularity:
1. Google Wave's Rosie--new possibilities for online collaboration across languages. (Posted 5/31/09)
2. Two activities to maximize networking opportunities at your next meetup. (Posted January 29, 2009)
3. Where to get pre keyed (green screen) video footage for your web video or online project. (Posted September 7, 2009)
4. Favorite 10 Tools For Creating Learning (Posted May 28, 2009)
5. Recommended Facebook Privacy Settings For Kids? (Posted August 10, 2009)
6. A parody on client-vendor negotiations: "I will gladly pay you Tuesday, for a hamburger today" (Posted October 11, 2009)
7. Guest topic: 8 Questions to help you identify victims of Human Trafficking (Posted September 29, 2009)
8. An eight-step process using Post-it notes to gain meeting consensus. (Posted April 25, 2009)
9. My New Book is Out... STOP! Don't buy it...! (Posted yesterday)
10.The Change Curve On Death and Dying. (Posted December 10, 2008)
Now, I've scanned the list above and (leaving keyword search terms aside for a moment) am reasonably comfortable that I'm still publishing topics that are aligned with social media, business and learning.
But, the way I see it, I'm not the final arbiter of that. You are.
So, let me know. Am I still doing well by you?
